A trapper explores a new mountain and discovers a dilapidated cabin, which he renovates to live in with his new wife. As their family grows, the diminishing game forces their eldest son to leave. He participates in the Georgia land lottery to claim a farm, but years later, his farm fails. The family’s journey spans generations, culminating with twin brothers seeking revenge against those who attacked and murdered their mother and father. Their aim is to eliminate their enemies, dubbing themselves the ‘Death Masters.’ The narrative draws from real family names and stories recorded by my Great Grandfather, Seborn Jackson Cowart, who wrote about his experiences during Sherman’s March, traveling along America’s first National Highway, and settling in Texas. Despite having no formal education, he chronicled his life’s journey with heartfelt wisdom, concluding with these words: ‘Our eyes may be dimmed, our steps slower, but our spirits remain strong, and we hope to meet our Maker in peace.
